There are two types of attendees filters: automatic filters and advanced filters.
1) Automatic filters
Automatic filters only display, by default, only one filter section, without a title. These filters are dynamically created and updated according to 3 fields in the profile of participants:
- their Job
- their Second Job
- their "Skills"
The 20 values repeated at least 5 times are used as filters. If there are less than 3 filters, it will not be displayed.
Similar values are sorted and combined (in filters only). Thus, if several profiles have the "CEO and Founder" value and others have the "Founder and CEO"value, they will be merged to avoid duplicate filters.
2) Advanced filters
These filters are determined early in the implementation of the event on the platform, thanks to the information requested from the participants in the registration forms.
Some fields that already exist in Swapcard can be used in advanced filters such as the "Function" field (you must then match the registration form information in two fields: an existing field, and a custom field).
There can be as many advanced filters as needed, each one being linked to a custom field. Advanced filter names are editable, and so are their orders.
It is also possible not to give a title to a filter so that its values are automatically displayed (this is particularly useful when there are only one or two filters).
Normally, it is only possible to display the values of one filter at a time (they are all displayed in the example above to show you the different possibilities of filters).
All values in a custom field will create different values of a filter. It is possible to order these values and choose from one of the two available designs: "Tags" or "Checkbox" (only one design per filter).
- We recommend using the "Tags" design when it is possible to select several values for a single field (eg "Technologies").
- We recommend the use of the "Checkbox" design when it is possible to select only one value for a single field (ex: "Job title").
If an attendee selects several values in one filter, it is an "OR" (eg Startup OR Corporate).
If an attendee selects values in different filters, it is an "AND" (eg Startup AND Biotechnologies).
It is possible to search using the search bar at the same time as the filters are used.
The number of possible filtered results is automatically changed when adding or removing filters.
You must first create custom fields before you can create advanced filters. The Swapcard Backend Team does it after the event organizer has sent their wishes to their PM or Swapcard Support
The organizer must therefore define:
- The name and design of each filter
- The order of the filters
- The order of the values in the filters
- If he wants an untitled filter
Attendees advanced filters are not displayed in the participants' profile. If you want them to be in the profile of your participants, you should also add the value of these filters in the "skills" of your participants.
