Building Your Branded App from Event Studio

Congratulations on choosing to build your branded app through our Event Studio platform! With a branded app, you can enhance your brand visibility, engage with customers, and provide a unique user experience tailored to your brand identity. Below are the steps to guide you through the process of building your branded app:

Step 1: Accessing event studio

  1. Log in to your account on our platform.

  2. Navigate to the Event Homepage.

  3. Go to the Community section, then select All Communities.

Step 2: Creating Your Branded App

  1. Find the "Applications" Tab:

    • In the Communities section, click on the "Applications" tab.

    • You will see a message welcoming you to branded applications.

  2. Get Started:

    • Click on "Let's Get Started" to begin creating your app.

  3. Name Your App:

    • Provide a name and a slug for your app:

      • The app name will appear under the icon once it's downloaded.

      • Keep the name 13 characters or less to avoid truncation.

      • Make sure the slug represents your brand and avoid special characters or specific years.

  4. Create the App: Once you've named it, proceed to create the app.

Step 3: Customizing your App

Once your app is created, you will see three tabs: General, Branding, and Events.

General Tab

  1. Upload Your App Icon:

    • Upload an icon for your app.

    • Make sure it meets the minimum size of 1024 x 1024 pixels (JPEG or PNG format with no transparency).

  2. Adjust the Application Name if necessary.

Branding Tab

  1. Customize Colors and Fonts:

    • Choose colors from the preset options or enter your hex codes.

    • Upload fonts for your app. You can use free fonts from Google Fonts or licensed fonts (make sure you include all styles—light, medium, semi-bold, and bold).

  2. Add Launch Screen and Home Logo:

    • Launch Screen Image: Upload an image with 1125 x 2436 pixels (PNG format, no transparency).

    • Home Logo Image: Upload in .svg format (preferably square with no gradients and a white background).

  3. Review and Save Changes.


Step 4: Configuring mobile settings

For iOS

  1. Scroll down to the iOS settings section.

  2. Click on "Setup" to configure iOS settings.

  3. Provide the entity name and team ID, which can be found in the Apple Developer Portal under membership details https://developer.apple.com/account.

  4. Follow the prompts to invite our team to your Apple Connect account and Google developer account

  5. Upload the API key file (in .p8 format), issue your ID, and API key from the App Store Connect Developer Portal.You can refer to this help article to know more about generating keys

  6. Create a push key on the developer portal and upload the .p8 file. You can generate the push key by logging in here https://developer.apple.com/account/resources/authkeys/list

  7. Complete the setup process and ensure all information is accurately provided.

  8. Once the ste up is completed you can link the event under Events section

For Android

  1. Add a Banner for the Play Store:
    You will be prompted to upload a banner image that we will use for your app's Play Store listing. This ensures your app has a polished and professional appearance when users browse the Play Store. Make sure the banner meets the required dimensions and guidelines to avoid any delays in your app submission.

  2. Share the Service Account Key:
    To enable us to manage your app's publishing and updates on the Play Store, you'll need to share your Service Account Key with us. This key provides the necessary permissions for us to handle your app's backend operations securely and efficiently. We have included detailed instructions within the Studio on how to generate and share this key.

Step 5: Submitting Your App for Review

  1. Once your app is configured on Studio you will receive an email from Branded apps team, follow the instructions on email and fill the details mentioned on that email

  2. Ensure all required information is completed on the App Store, including descriptions, keywords, support URLs, and app information

  3. If you wish to review your app before sending it for review, you can send yourself a testflight version under testflight tab

  4. Click on "App for Review" to submit your app for review on the App Store.

  5. Await approval, and once approved, your app will be ready for distribution.

Final Notes:

  • Remember to complete all required information on the App Store for both iOS and Android platforms.

  • Keep an eye on the status of your app during the review process.

  • Once approved, your branded app will be ready for distribution, offering your users a unique and engaging experience tailored to your brand.
