Building Your Branded App from Event Studio

Learn how to build and customize your branded app using Event Studio to enhance brand visibility and provide a tailored user experience.

Congratulations on choosing to build your branded app through our Event Studio platform! With a branded app, you can enhance your brand visibility, engage with customers, and provide a unique user experience tailored to your brand identity. Below are the steps to guide you through the process of building your branded app:

Step 1: Accessing event studio

  1. Log in to your account on our platform.

  2. Navigate to the Event Homepage.

  3. Go to the Community section, then select All Communities.

Step 2: Creating Your Branded App

  1. Find the "Applications" Tab:

    • In the Communities section, click on the "Applications" tab.

    • You will see a message welcoming you to branded applications.

  2. Get Started:

    • Click on "Let's Get Started" to begin creating your app.

  3. Name Your App:

    • Provide a name and a slug for your app:

      • The app name will appear under the icon once it's downloaded.

      • Keep the name 13 characters or less to avoid truncation.

      • Make sure the slug represents your brand and avoid special characters or specific years.

  4. Create the App: Once you've named it, proceed to create the app.

Step 3: Customizing your App

Once your app is created, you will see three tabs: General, Branding, and Events.

General Tab

  1. Upload Your App Icon:

    • Upload an icon for your app.

    • Make sure it meets the minimum size of 1024 x 1024 pixels (JPEG or PNG format with no transparency).

  2. Adjust the Application Name if necessary.

Branding Tab

  1. Customize Colors and Fonts:

    • Choose colors from the preset options or enter your hex codes.

    • Upload fonts for your app. You can use free fonts from Google Fonts or licensed fonts (make sure you include all styles—light, medium, semi-bold, and bold).

  2. Add Launch Screen and Home Logo:

    • Launch Screen Image: Upload an image with 1125 x 2436 pixels (PNG format, no transparency).

    • Home Logo Image: Upload in .svg format (preferably square with no gradients and a white background).

  3. Review and Save Changes.


Step 4: Configuring mobile settings

To begin configuring your mobile applications:

  • Navigate to the General tab in Event Studio.

  • Scroll down until you reach Mobile settings.Mobile settings

  • Under Mobile settings, select “Set up” next to Mobile apps set up to start the configuration process for both iOS and Android.

App Setup (General)

1. General Application Information:
• Enter a short App description that will appear on the App Store.
• Add relevant Keywords to help users find your application more easily.
• Provide a Support URL for users seeking help with the app.

iOS Setup

1. Invite Swapcard to Your Apple Developer Account:
• Select the iOS setup section.
• Invite ios@swapcard.com as App Manager in your Apple Connect account.
• Ensure access to Certificates, Identifiers, and Profiles is enabled for the account.


2. Enter Entity Details:
• Fill in your Entity Name and Team ID as listed on your Apple Developer account.


3. Create an App Store Connect API Key:
• Paste the API Key, Issuer ID, and upload the .p8 file required for API management.


4. Set Up Push Notifications:
• Enter your Push Key ID and upload the corresponding .p8 file for notifications.

Android Setup

1. Invite Swapcard to Your Google Developer Account:
• In the Android setup section, invite android@swapcard.com as an Admin in your Google Developer account.


2. Upload Google Service Account Key:
• Upload the Service Account Key file (JSON format) to enable app management on the Play Store. Follow this guide if you need help creating this key.

3. Google Play Banner:
• Upload a Google Play Banner image with dimensions 1024x500px.

Finalizing Your Setup

1. After completing the iOS and Android configurations, review all entries.
2. Once satisfied, finalize the setup by linking the event under the Events section in Event Studio.

Final Notes:

  • Remember to complete all required information on the App Store for both iOS and Android platforms.

  • Keep an eye on the status of your app during the review process.

  • Once approved, your branded app will be ready for distribution, offering your users a unique and engaging experience tailored to your brand.
