Branded App: About Updates to Your App

Automatic branded app updates

Updated over a week ago

Once your app is available on the App Store and Google Play, users can download it and interact with your brand. Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure the app's content and user experience remain current.

What do app updates include?

Swapcard routinely submits updates on your behalf to the App Store and Google Play. These updates cover:

  • Introduction of new features

  • Bug fixes

  • Enhancements to performance

For those with Enterprise and Professional plans, updates are automatically applied for any new app versions as long as you have events scheduled within the next 12 months or that occurred in the past 12 months.

For the Starter plan, updates consider events scheduled 15 days before or after the current date.

Each update is also reviewed by Apple and Google. You can track the required fixes made to pass these reviews from the Branded App Overview tab in your app dashboard.

During the update or review process, the existing version of your app stays available on both the App Store and Google Play. If a new version is rejected and requires corrections, the existing version continues to be accessible for download in the stores, unaffected by the rejection.

What happens if my app hasn't been updated for a long time?

If a long time period has passed without an app update (e.g. multiple months) please contact the support about this issue.
