How to set up your white label URL
Updated this week

Setting up a white-label URL (also known as a vanity or custom domain) allows you to brand your event platform with a personalized web address, enhancing your brand's visibility and providing attendees with a seamless experience. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for configuring a white-label URL within the Studio and adjusting necessary settings with your domain provider.

Benefits of a White-Label URL

  • Brand Consistency: Aligns your event platform's URL with your organization's branding, reinforcing brand identity.

  • Professional Appearance: A custom domain presents a polished and trustworthy image to attendees.

  • Enhanced User Experience: Simplifies access for users by providing a memorable and relevant web address.

Step 1: Configure the White-Label url in the Studio

  1. Access the Studio: Log in to your event management Studio.

  2. Navigate to Application Settings: In the main menu, select Application to access application-specific configurations.

  3. Enter your custom domain:

    • Locate the White label domains field.

    • Input your desired subdomain (e.g., events.yourcompany.com).

  4. Save changes: Click Save or Apply to confirm the new settings.

Step 2: Update DNS Settings with your domain provider

To link your custom domain to the event platform, you'll need to modify your Domain Name System (DNS) records through your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap).

  1. Log in to your domain provider: Access your account on your domain provider's website.

  2. Access DNS management: Find the section labeled DNS Management or Domain Settings.

  3. Add a CNAME record:

    • Host: Enter the subdomain specified in the Studio (e.g., events).

    • Type: Select CNAME.

    • Value: Input the target domain provided by the Studio (e.g., platform.yourcompany.com).

    • TTL: Set to the default value or as recommended by your provider.

  4. Save DNS records: Confirm and save the new CNAME record.

Note: DNS changes may take up to 48 hours to propagate globally, though they often update sooner.

Step 3: Verify domain connection

  1. Return to the Studio: After updating DNS settings, go back to the Studio's Application section.

  2. Initiate domain verification: Click on Verify Domain or a similar option to confirm the connection.

  3. Confirmation: Upon successful verification, the platform will indicate that your white-label URL is active.

Additional Considerations

  • SSL Certificates: Ensure that Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates are correctly configured to provide a secure browsing experience.

  • Subdomain vs. Root Domain: It's recommended to use a subdomain (e.g., events.yourcompany.com) for the white-label URL to maintain existing website structures.

  • Support: If you encounter issues, consult your domain provider's support resources or contact the event platform's support team for assistance.

By following these steps, you can effectively set up a white-label URL, offering attendees a branded and cohesive experience.
