Control who sees each section of your home page

Show the right sections to the right people: target groups, guests and devices, and understand how visibility works for people who belong to several groups.

With the Home Page Builder, each section of your event home page can be shown to specific groups, to guests and on specific devices. For example, you can display a logistics briefing to exhibitors only, or a concierge section to VIP attendees only.

How to set the visibility of a section

  1. In Event Builder > Pages & menu, click Customize page.

  2. Click the section, then open its Visibility tab.

  3. Under Groups that see this content, turn on the groups that should see the section, or click Enable all.

  4. Turn on Guests if visitors who aren't logged in should see it. This requires Guest mode.

  5. Under Device visibility, choose All, Desktop only or Mobile only.

  6. Click Publish changes.

💡 New sections are visible to all groups except Guests, which stays off until you turn it on.

How visibility works for people in several groups

A person can belong to several groups. The Home Page Builder now follows the same group priority as the rest of the platform, depending on when the home page was created:

  • Builder Pages created on or after October 20, 2026: a section restricted to specific groups is shown only if the person's highest-priority group is selected in its Visibility tab. This is the same rule the rest of Swapcard already uses.

  • Builder Pages created before October 20, 2026: nothing changes. They keep the old rule, so pages already live behave the same.

Example: on a new home page, a concierge section is visible to the VIP group, and the agenda and expo sections to Attendees. A sponsor's CEO registered in both groups, with VIP higher in the list, sees the VIP section only.

Group priority is the order of your groups in Event Builder > Groups & permissions: the first group in the list has the highest priority. Drag a group to change its position.

💡 Check the order of your groups before you build a new home page, because it decides who sees what. To learn more about group priority, see Understanding Groups and Permissions.

How to check what each group sees

  • In the builder, use the group selector above the preview to see the page as a specific group. Organizer (All sections) shows every section.

  • On a page created on or after October 20, 2026, preview a person's highest-priority group to see what they see.

  • Switch between Desktop and Mobile to check device visibility.

Why can't someone see a section?

Check the following points:

  • Their group isn't selected in the section's Visibility tab. On a page created on or after October 20, 2026, check their highest-priority group.

  • They aren't logged in, and Guests is off for the section.

  • The section is set to Desktop only or Mobile only.

  • It's a People or Sessions section and none of its entries are visible to them: the whole section is then hidden.

  • Your latest changes haven't been published yet.
