How to manage codes
Once created, codes can be monitored and adjusted in Studio.
Click on the code to:
Deactivate or Delete Codes: Remove outdated or misconfigured codes.
Edit Existing Codes: Adjust details, including expiration dates or ticket eligibility.
Track Usage: Monitor how many times a code has been redeemed and analyze its impact on sales.
Code settings: Click Code Settings.
In the panel that opens, customize your form field with:
Label (Required): Defines the title shown to users (e.g. Discount Code or Access Key).
Description (Optional): Appears below the label to offer extra guidance (e.g. Enter your company-issued code).
Code Display: Depending on the option you select in Studio, the promo code field will appear differently to end users during the registration process.
With the Standard option, the promo code field is hidden by default on the registration form.
Attendees will see a link prompting them to enter a promo code. When they click the link, the field expands and allows them to enter their code.
With the Prominent option, the promo code field is visible and expanded by default on the registration form.
Attendees can immediately enter their promo code without needing to click any additional link.
All changes made here apply globally to all codes in the event.
If you change a user’s ticket directly in Studio, the system will automatically check if the promo code used during the initial purchase still applies to the new ticket.
The promo code is verified for the new ticket type.
If it’s still valid, the discount is applied and the Balance Due is updated automatically.
If the promo code doesn’t apply, you’ll see a warning message and the code will be removed.
How to duplicate tickets and codes
Organizers can duplicate existing tickets and codes in Studio, automatically copying their settings into a new draft. This reduces manual setup and makes it easier to create similar ticket types or codes without starting from scratch.
How it works
Navigate to Studio → Tickets or Studio → Registration → Codes.
Select the item you want to duplicate.
Click Duplicate.
A new draft is created with all settings pre-filled from the original.
Update any required fields and make any desired changes.
Click Save.
All configurable settings from the original item are copied to the new draft.
For tickets, this includes:
Price
Quantity limits
Sales dates
Visibility settings
Registration settings
Other ticket configurations
For codes, all configuration settings are copied, allowing you to modify only the fields that need to change.
Validation rules ensure that required and unique information is updated before the duplicated item can be saved. For example, duplicated codes must have a unique Code Name, and any other mandatory fields must meet standard validation requirements. If updates are needed, validation messages will guide you through the required changes.
Important notes
Duplicated items are created as new drafts and can be edited before saving.
The original ticket or code remains unchanged.
This feature helps streamline setup when creating multiple tickets or codes with similar configurations.
Codes are a powerful tool to boost attendance, reward loyal attendees, and increase early ticket sales. By setting up codes in Swapcard Studio, you gain full control over ticketing discounts while providing a seamless experience for attendees.
