Design and print custom badges for your event, including attendee names, roles, and QR codes for easy scanning and identification.

Introduction

The Badge generator is a powerful tool designed to create and customize badges for event attendees. It allows you to create print-at-home badges for events and prevent long registration lines for seamless on-site experiences!

Your attendees can easily access their event badges from the web app and print them at their convenience before the event.

Before using the Badge generator, please ensure the following prerequisites are in place:

  • Tickets: Create tickets for registration purposes and subsequent badge creation.

  • Registration: Attendees must be registered using Swapcard registration to generate their badges.

How to create badges templates for your event

  1. Log into the Studio

  2. Navigate to the Onsite menu, then click on Badge templates

  3. Once you're in the badge templates, click on Create a badge

The Badge Generator allows you to create custom templates per ticket type.

It includes a "Default badge" that cannot be deleted, which serves as the fallback template if no custom template exists for a specific ticket type.

If a custom template exists for every ticket type, the Default badge will not be used.

Badges can be duplicated or created from a blank template. However, a duplicated badge will not be associated with any tickets until at least one ticket is linked to it.


How to customize your badges

Each badge template can be customized with the following information:

1. General information :

  • Name of the badge template

  • Format & Margins: Badges can be either a folded A4 with an effective A6 size or a folded Letter with an effective 4.25”x5.5” size. Margins can be set accordingly. Please note that only the top left quarter of the page is editable.

  • Ticket associated

2. Design & Fields:

Each badge can have any of the standard people fields added to the badge.

  • Picture: choose the distance from the top, set the width (in percentage), height (in physical size), and alignment.

  • Full name: choose the font size, font name, color, style. alignment and distance from previous field.

  • First name: choose the font size, font name, color, style. alignment and distance from previous field.

  • Last name: choose the font size, font name, color, style. alignment and distance from previous field.

  • Job title: choose the font size, font name, color, style. alignment and distance from previous field.

  • Company: choose the font size, font name, color, style. alignment and distance from previous field.

  • QR code: choose the size, background color, and alignment. Note that the background color will take the full width of the badge (minus the margins)

  • Text: choose the distance from the top, customize the font size, color, style (bold, italic, underline), background color, and alignment.

  • Pictures: choose the distance from the top, set the width (in percentage), height (in physical size), and alignment.

Text and Picture are the only fields that can be added more than once.

Additionally, you can change the position of each field using the toggle next to each information.

How to print your badges ?

How to print a single badge

  • Log into the Studio

  • Go the Content ➡️ People

  • Click on the badge icon next to the person you wish to print a badge for ( you can only print badges for registered attendees)

How to mass print badges

You can mass download PDF badges for registered attendees. Multiple individuals or all registrants can be selected to compile PDF files containing all badges, streamlining the process of printing them in advance.

  1. Select the attendees whose badge you want to print from the People section in the studio

2. After you pick the attendees who need badges, click on export badges to choose which tickets you which to export.

The badges will be saved individually as PDFs. These PDFs will then be bundled together into a single zip file. Each badge PDF will be named according to the format: [LastName]_[FirstName]_[ConfirmRegCode].pdf.


Using the Badge Generator ensures a smooth and efficient event registration process. Attendees can print their badges at home, reducing wait times and improving their overall event experience

It also a valuable tool for event organizers, simplifying the badge creation process and enhancing attendee experience. Make sure to follow the steps above to create and customize badges efficiently.
